THE MYSTERY MILLIONAIRE
The Mystery Millionaire was born in Essex 38 years ago...
“I come from a working class family who had little money, so despite a basic education I was determined to make a good living – it's fair to say that money has always driven me. At 16 I got my first job in the City and went to college day release to gain further qualifications. I learnt on my feet and really enjoyed what I was doing, so it came as a shock when, a few years down the line, I was made redundant.
A job at a major bank followed, but I wasn't happy there. I really wanted to get into the money market, which I did in my early 20s. I was in the right place at the right time and never looked back. Even though I was working 60-70 hour weeks it was the life I'd always dreamed of. I earned a lot but spent it on enjoying myself. I had the best cars, a boat, I travelled the world and even lived in the Far East for five years working for a variety of banks.
There have been some amazing highs during my 20 years in the business. Buying and developing my house was one of them. Money gives you the freedom to fulfil your dreams, but there comes a time when you have to move on. While I really love my home, I'm single now and it's just too big for me. Besides, I want a complete change. I've worked so hard for so long and I need a break - a long holiday and the chance to do something completely different. If I can give another person the chance to experience a different side to life, to see what life really has to offer, then I know I will feel a great sense of satisfaction.
Of course I understand that not everyone will want to leave their own home. Perhaps they don't want a fast car or a boat. That's why I'm offering a £1 million cash alternative to the prizes. With a sum like this the world will be the winner's oyster.”
